Bright Settings can use Cottunique to make your Fitted Tablecloths
Product: Fitted Tablecloths Fabric: Cottunique
Use the above menu to see pricing for other products made with this fabric.
Cottunique is a little higher quality than Spun Polyester. It is thicker, softer, more absorbent, and has twice the number of colors available. Cottunique is a luxurious solid fabric that feels as soft as cotton while retaining all the durability and color-fast qualities of polyester. The fabric actually softens and improves with age! It's the ideal solution for adding a spot of color and beauty to your restaurant, event, dining room, kitchen or patio.
100% Spun Polyester, Wash Warm/Dry Low If your tablecloth is wider than 70", there will be seams.
A FITTED TABLECLOTH is also referred to as a FITTED TABLE COVER or FITTED TABLE DRAPE. You can think of it as a tablecloth that
fits over your table like a box. It is made to fit the exact size of your table with side panels on all four sides that "drape"
down to the floor. The side panels are designed with inverted box pleats on the corners which allow you to open the sides. This
is a convenient feature for storing items underneath the table. Because it is all one piece, a FITTED TABLECLOTH eliminates the
need for a tablecloth, a table skirt, and skirting clips.
A fitted tablecloth fits over your table like a box. Measure the width, length, and height of your table. If you can match that with
one of our standard fitted tablecloth sizes shown under the Pricing tab, you can place your order there. If the size you need is not
listed, please contact one of our sales consultants at 800-327-6025 or email us
with your measurements, and we will be happy to assist you in ordering a custom-made fitted tablecloth.
To determine the size of your fitted tablecloth you need to know the width, length, and height of your table. Most tables are 29"-30"
high, but check yours to make sure how high it is.
Once you have these dimensions, just list them.
Example: Table size 18"W x 60"L, and the height of the table is 30"
Tablecloths have a merrowed hem, which looks like a surged finish.
Martha Swartwout on Oct 11, 2017
Our standard finish is a merrowed edge which is done by a serging machine that puts a real tight stitching all around the edge of the fabric. For an additional 10% on squares and rectangles you can request a hemmed edge where the fabric is folded over and stitched.
Can you direct me to an illustration of the hem finishes?
Louise Piland on Aug 6, 2017
I ordered the "merrow hem" on my tablecloth's but I preferred the "hemmed edge" napkins. I don't see this site letting me upload a photo but I can tell you that the "hemmed edge" is a regular (twice folded over) 1/4 inch wide hem. Cottunique is a dream fabric! It washes and wears like poly but feels more like cotton. The napkins don't have that 'slick' feel when wiping your mouth or fingers. I have tablecloths in Red (holidays) and Burgundy with matching napkins. We also have place mats and napkins in black that we use every single day. They wear like iron and look really pretty too.
Shirley Anderson on Aug 7, 2017
These tablecloths have a stitched finish rather than a hem finish. I have been pleased with all that I have ordered.
Anita Kepley on Aug 7, 2017
I'm not sure they have such a thing on the web site. The hem finish is a standard bound edge, noting "hemmed" like a skirt or drape would be.
V A on Aug 6, 2017
The hem is machine stitched at the edge of the tablecloth. It looks fine. It is not folded under. It almost looks like a tiny ruffle, but not quite. I don't know where there is an illustration if there isn't one on the web site. I like my table cloths. They wash and dry well, and back on the table they go.
Is this an oval tablecloth? I need a 64" by 86"or smaller. What other clor choices do you have?
Cindy on Apr 8, 2017
I ordered several oval tablecloths but they were all custom sizes so I'm not sure if the one you are asking about is an oval.
Donna Bittle on Apr 10, 2017
I have two tables that are round and extend to oval. Bright settings makes it very easy for measuring an oval table with a preferred drop. They also offer an assortment of beautiful colors and fabrics for. The cottunique is a lovely fabric that drapes beautifully. It also washes, dries & irons easily.
is this fabric nice enough for semi formal dining room occasions? I want a simple cloth, but still want it to be very nice. We host dinner parties sometimes using china, others using pottery dishes. I'm seeing that schools use this so I'm a bit nervous that it may not be what I'm hoping for. "cottunique". Thank you for your input.
linda knapp on Mar 9, 2017
I think that you could use this in a semi-formal setting. It has a nice weight and doesn't feel like polyester at all. It's not slippery like poly can be. I have several Cottunique tablecloths and love them.
MARGARET SNYDER on Apr 10, 2017
I wouldn't say it is nice enough for a formal dinner with China, but I use it all the time. Love putting it on a French bistro table outside with candles and having a white tablecloth meal.
James Karn on Mar 16, 2017
I think so. I have used mine for wedding showers and with my tableware and flowers, the tables have looked very nice.
Constance Chrysler on Mar 10, 2017
Ionly use white cottoninque for formal or casual dinners. It washes beautiful and some time if I grap it from the dryer before it is dry u do not have to iron it but just fold it and smooth it out. The white can use bleach to get out all stains.
Diana Glashow on Mar 10, 2017
Thanks for reply. I would be interested in the ivory to coordinate with my bone china and my rust, cream pottery. I think I'm going to go for it.
I would like to order 2 oval tableclothes. One is for a table that is 42 x 54 the other is for the table with another leave 42 x 66. What size tablecloth to you recommend?
on Feb 28, 2017
All of our tablecloths are custom made to order. You can have any size you would like. The average drapes range between 8" to 12". Please go to this link to use our easy tablecloth calculator. Just put in the dimensions of your table and how far down you would like your cloth to drape. If you would like and 8" drape for the 42" x 54" Oval this is the calculation 42" + 8" +8" = 58, 54"+ 8"+8" = 70. You will need a 58" x 70" Oval cloth. For the 42" x 66" with an 8" drape you will need a 58" x 82" Oval cloth.

Is the Cottunique color Diana Wheat the same color as Illusion's Wheat?
Vicky on Feb 17, 2017
Close, but no, not the same. I'm going to send an email to you with colors swatches of each so you can see them side by side.
Marc Templin Staff on Feb 17, 2017
What edging do you think looks best with cottunique?
on Jan 30, 2017
My personal opinion is that the merrowed edge looks best on all fabrics, especially fabrics like Cottunique, where the is no right or wrong side. If a tablecloth is hemmed, then it will have a right and a wrong side.
Eileen Douglas Staff on Jan 30, 2017
If I order a custom size tonight or tomorrow morning, will it be to MI by Wednesday? I would like to have it for Thanksgiving.
Rich Clow on Nov 19, 2016
In order for us to get a tablecloth to you in Michigan by Wednesday, you will have to select expedited shipping when you're checking out with your order. Which option you select will depend on your zip code, but most likely you are going to have to at least select 2nd Day Air, and maybe even Next Day Air. No matter what you order this weekend, we will review your order on Monday morning and verify that we can get it to you by Wednesday and what shipping method will be required to do it.

Table measures 85 x 110 where would seam be?
Jan Grzelewski on Jul 24, 2016
Normally, we try to place the seams evenly on either side of the cloth so that the seams will not appear on your tabletop. However, our Cottunique fabric is only 70" wide. So on a 85" wide tabletop, the seam(s) will appear on the tabletop. If you want a tablecloth without seams, take a look a our Spun Polyester which is similar to Cottunique except it's 120" wide. It will allow you to have a 12" drop on the sides WITHOUT any seams at all!
Marc Templin Staff on Jul 24, 2016
Can I embroider on this fabric?
Jan Grzelewski on Jul 23, 2016
Is the hem on a fitted tablecloth hemmed or merrowed?
Lisa Salvatore on Jan 19, 2017
The standard edge is merrowed, but we can hem the edge for an addition 10% fee.
I don't see why you could not. In fact, it has a lot of body, I think embroidery would wear well on it
Diana Peyton on Dec 3, 2016
You should have no problem embroidering on this fabric. It doesn't shrink and is tightly woven.
David Brian Sorce on Jul 24, 2016
As an adult I have not done any needlework but I did embroider when I was young. I absolutely love cottunique and think that you should be able to embroider on it but have not done it myself.
Cindy the Soprano on Jul 24, 2016
Jan, I have not used the Cottunique for embroidery but I don't see any reason that you could not. If you are planning machine embroidery I would think the use of a stabilizer would be advisable and if hand embroidery is what you plan then certainly you could. I have used it quite successfully with raw edge appliqué using an iron on bonding product. Good luck with your project!
Kathryn Hawley on Jul 24, 2016
I have not embroidered on this fabric, but it is a nice weight and very stable- not stretchy. I think it would embroider nicely. Request a swatch. Bright Settings is very quick to send them!
Is this a hemmed (how wide is the hem) or merrowed?
Melissa Wilson on Mar 24, 2015
The tablecloths all have a merrowed edge. The Napkins are available with a hemmed or merrowed edge. Hemmed edge is about 1/4" Fold over hem and is a $4.00 per dozen upcharge. Square and Rectangular tablecltohs are available for hemming at a 10% upcharge.

kristine broussard on Jul 29, 2014
At the top of our pricing page above all the standard sizes you will see drop down boxes where you can enter any size and enter your color and quantity to order.
Connie Williams on Jul 29, 2014
Thank you. Just ordered the tablecloth that I needed for my daughter's wedding.
What size tablecloth do I need to have a floor-length tablecloth on a 6-foot round table?
on Jan 13, 2014
The tablecloth size for a 72" round table that is 30" high is a 132" round tablecloth.
Eileen Douglas Staff on Jan 13, 2014
Are these table clothes oval? I do not want oblong for oval table. Please confirm.
on Nov 30, 2013

My table is 45x78. Which size is the best size for this table?
paula stork on Nov 13, 2013
Thank you for the information.
paula stork on Nov 14, 2013
The tablecloth size depends on how far down you would like the tablecloth to drape. We recommend a drape of anywhere from 8 to 12 inches. If you sit at the table and measure from the top edge of the table down you can see where this will fall and determine the amount of drape you would prefer. If you determine an 8 inch drape would be sufficient then the size would be 61" X 94". To determine the size just take the table width of 45" and add the drape to this two times for each side, 45 + 8 + 8 = 61 and then do the same with the length take 78 + 8 + 8 = 94. You can also use the tablecloth size calculator at the bottom of the list of standard square and rectangular sizes to calculate the tablecloth size. If you have any questions or problems our sales department can also help. Office hours are 8AM to 5PM Eastern Time Monday through Friday and the number is 800-327-6025.

Does the 90' square have a seam?
on Oct 23, 2013
Yes, a 90" square would have two side seams. The fabric width is 70" therefore you would have two 10" side seams.
Connie Williams on Oct 23, 2013
My table is 30" x 70" - what size cloth would I need if I want it to almost touch the floor?
on Oct 17, 2013
You would need a 90" x 130" to go to the floor. If you want it off the floor you could go with a 88" x 128". Just make sure you selected Rounded Corners so the points of the cloth don't puddle on the corners.
Connie Williams on Oct 18, 2013
Can you please advise what is your best fabric for napkin folding/designs (so that the napkins retain their shape)? Is it the cottunique?
on Oct 14, 2013
Yes, the cottunique is the fabric we recommend to use if you are doing any type of napkin fold. This fabric is heavy enough to hold the fold and can be starched if needed.
Eileen Douglas Staff on Oct 14, 2013
I need a round 77" cloth. Do you make custom sizes?
on Oct 11, 2013
Yes, we do, just select round tablecloths and use the drop down size chart to select customize a size. This is located below the list of standard tablecloth sizes.
Eileen Douglas Staff on Oct 11, 2013
I would like to have a custom size tablecloth made and don't see how to input my specific dimensions to get a price quote. I am interested in the spun polyester, color black. My table is 48" wide x 24" deep, and is 28 1/2" tall. Can you help me?? Thanks!!
on Sep 20, 2013
Once you choose your fabric, if you don't see the size listed you can scroll to the bottom of the pricing section and enter any size. You will see in bold it says "order any size not shown above". This will give you the drop down boxes to enter any size. If you want your cloth to go the the floor you would need a 81" x 105" tablecloth which would be $56.66, if you want a lap length cloth you would need a 44" x 68" which would be $30.67.

Can I order larger place mats than the sizes shown? Interested in placement that measure 14 x 20.
Tony Thiros on Aug 7, 2013
Thank you. What is the turnaround for custom orders?
Tony Thiros on Aug 7, 2013
Placemats take 24-48 hours to make. Changing from the standard size placemat to custom size does not change the lead time.
Yes, we can make custom size placemats, they are still sold by the dozen. The price for the 14 X 20 Cottunique Placemats with a merrowed finish is $115.67 per dozen and the price for the inverted hem finish is $139.31 per dozen. You would have to call our sales office at 800-327-6025 to place this order.
If I ordered the 70" x 144", would there be a seam in this cottunique tablecloth? If so, are there any tablecloths without a seam at this size? Thank you.
on Jun 25, 2013
The Cottunique fabric is 70" wide so there would not be a seam in the 70" X 144" size tablecloth.
Eileen Douglas Staff on Jun 25, 2013
We are a school and need to order quite a few. Parents take the home to wash and they are used a lot. Is the Cottunique a product that holds up well to lots of washing and does not wrinkle to much when folded and stored?
Ellen Pfahler on May 24, 2013
Correct. The Cottunique fabric is very "user friendly". It actually softens and improves with age and is very wrinkle resistant. It stores really well and will last for years.
Connie Williams on May 24, 2013
i want smaller cocktail size napkins about 8 inches square with a nice finished edge. Can those be made and how much would they be in the Cottunique fabric? thanks
on Apr 18, 2013
We can make the napkins in an 8" or even 10" square size, they would still be sold by the dozen and the price is $19.43/per dozen, if you want a hemmed edge the price is $23.43/per dozen.
Eileen Douglas Staff on Apr 18, 2013
I need a table cloth 90x54. Can you customize?
on Feb 27, 2013
Yes we can! Just so you know, you can order 54" x 96" which is a standard size. But 90" x 54" is not a standard size, so you have to go down the page to where it reads "Order Any Size Not Shown Above". Enter the quantity you want, then the color, and finally the dimensions from the two drop down menus. Select 54 and 90 from the two drop down menus (doesn't make any difference which you enter first). After you select a length for each of the two sides, the pricing will appear. Then click on the "Add to Cart" button and you're on your way!

I would like to get this tablecloth with a 10 inch drop for my dining room, however, the two end dining chairs have arms that allow for only a 4 inch drop. What is the best way to configure a tablecloth? Should I get 10 inch drop all around and pull out the end chairs for a clean drop or push the chairs in messing up the drop? My other option is to use a 10 inch for the sides and a 4 inch drop for the ends. What would you suggest looks best? Thanks for your advise. Vivian Pennsylvania
Vivian Sullivan on Jan 6, 2013
Hi Vivian, Having 4" drop on just the ends might look odd. I would get a 10 inch drop all around and pull out the end chairs just enough for the tablecloth to drop freely. Nobody but you will notice that the chairs are pulled away from the table a bit, and your table will look great.
Marc Templin Staff on Jan 6, 2013
For oval cloth do you measure length and width to farthest edge and then add 2-3 inches for hangover? What is time frmae for shipping?
TonyT on Dec 15, 2012
You would measure the length and width and add your drop. We recommend a minimum 8" drop to your table, therefore you would add 16 to both the length and width. All orders ship in 48-72 hours.
This is the second special order tablecloth I ordered. They look great and come out of the wash and look like new. I highly recommend the company.
The only issue I have is that the minimum order for matching napkins is 12. I would prefer to order the number I want instead.

I bought cottunique fabric table cloths in the late 90s and still have them. They don't seem to fade or wrinkle, and wash easily. I was happy to see this company selling them as the company I bought from in the past no longer existed.

After 3 years of trying to find a tablecloth to fit my country-style table for 8, I finally looked online in frustration for a made to order. Luckily, Bright Settings came up first in my search. Cottunique lays beautifully on the table. Washes and dries like a dream. No wrinkles. No touch up. Love the matching napkins. Every hem is even. No loose threads. Good restaurant quality. Color was true to what I could see online. I ordered over the holiday and thought there would be a delay in production - there wasn't.
Great price for a great product. I passed the website along to a friend already. An added feature - the email with table setting ideas, how to napkin fold, etc. First rate all the way.
